Gallowglass evolved from a little operation called Rugger Luggers who are still remembered with respect and awe in some quarters - primarily for their capacity for work but also for those little extras - the size of their feet, their stunning good looks and the unfeasibly large quantities of food they could despatch in minutes. Looking at the girth of the Gallowglass management, old habits die hard!!

we were determined to offer a service to the conference and event industry that would surpass anything that had gone before.

There was something missing. The basic principles weren't there.
Conscientiousness, presentability, and anticipation - they were all lacking out on site. So we set out to change people's perceptions and present the industry with an alternative - No longer did mediocrity have to be the accepted standard. "

Now in our eleventh year, we are regularly
asked about the origin of the Gallowglass name and logo.
Well here it is for those of you who haven’t heard from us personally.

The name Gallowglass was given to Scottish mercenaries in the troubles of the 13th century. They were elite warriors who had a reputation for getting the job done. Well back in 1996/7 our core crew was drawn from London Scottish Rugby Club - a bunch of big, fit, strong Scotsmen – yes sometimes ugly but usually reasonably intelligent - always prepared to go that extra mile. The name just seemed to fit. During the years since, the Gallowglass service has grown and grown.

In September 1996 five clients employed us. 10 years on, we have over 1800 clients on the books, we work regularly for over 1000 clients and this number increases every week.
