Gallowglass recognised some time back that Health & Safety would become a more and more significant issue in our industry... and we now have our own Health & Safety Company - GGH&S.
Over the past few years Gallowglass has invested some £400,000 towards the development of a Health & Safety culture within the company.
Whilst expanding our in house capability, Gallowglass historically drew on the expertise of Steve Kearney as an independent consultant. In September 2010, Gallowglass and Steve Kearney created a new company - Gallowglass Health & Safety with Steve at the helm.
12 of our finest Crew Chiefs and Senior Crew Chiefs are NEBOSH qualified and make up our team of safety advisers reporting through Alby Anderson. These Crew Chiefs are able to carry out a wider ranging H&S role for our clients, particularly on those sites where we already have a meaningful representation of crew.
We are particularly proud to have clinched the top safety award given by the British Safety Council which is given for lower than average accident rates, sound safety policies and a board level commitment to Health & Safety. To quote David Ballard, Director of the British Safety Council, "The National Safety Awards highlight organisations that reach the top levels of health and safety. They are a mark of a proven and significant achievement in safety standards".
