We recognised some time back that
Health & Safety would become a more and more
significant issue in our industry and we decided to take it
very seriously indeed.Gallowglass over the past few years has invested
around £300,000 towards the development of a Health & Safety culture within the
company. Whilst expanding our in house capability, we have drawn external input and expertise from the Symonds Group and The Event Safety Shop.

Being also particularly mindful of the legislation that makes it a criminal offence to ignore the need for First Aid qualified personnel on site in the event of an injury or worse, Gallowglass have commenced First Aid training for staff and crew. Click here for more information.

This drive towards an all company H&S awareness has led to the publication of a 84 page Gallowglass Crew Handbook produced by our own H&S management in conjunction with outside specialists and the British Safety Council. The move is endorsed and supported by the Health & Safety Executive who applauds our professionalism.

In addition to this, several of our finest Crew Chiefs and Senior Crew Chiefs have commenced formal H&S training, specific to the Event Industry. A selection of these individuals has gone on to undertake the British Safety Council equivalent of the NEBOSH Certificate.

These Crew Chiefs are able to carry out a wider ranging H&S role for our clients, particularly on those sites where we already have a meaningful representation of crew.

We are particularly proud to have clinched the top safety award given by the British Safety Council which is given for lower than average accident rates, sound safety policies and a board level commitment to Health & Safety.
